McDonald’s rolls out hotspots in 55 of their Bay Area locations today. The press release states that 10 New York City locations have been serving as test hotspots since March. They plan to offer wireless access in hundreds of their restaurants in the future. The cost? $4.95 for 2 hours of access, other pricing options are available, check McDonald’s list of hotspots for availability.
I wonder if $4.95 for 2 hours of access means that the urban mcdonalds will have to take down the little signs they have that say something like consumers must consume their food and leave the building within 20 minutes of purchase.. (to avoid homeless people from hanging out all day)
I guess one could argue that if someone is using the McHotspot they are “making a purchase”. The signs will probably remain.
