In honor of the release of Firefox 2.0, Lifehacker has a few good tips on customizing it for a better browsing experience:
- Download Statusbar Extension: Gets rid of the download window in favor of a tiny statusbar.
- Top Firefox 2 configuration tweaks.
- Consolidate Firefox’s Chrome: Tighten up Firefox’s interface a bit and get some more screen space for page viewing.
Also, the configuration changes used to speed up downloads in Firefox 1.x are still applicable in 2.0.

Thanks for the download status bar tip! I hated the way Firefox handled downloads and I’m delighted someone came up with a solution.
