I almost forgot to mention Bike Week NYC. So what if it’s almost over? There are still plenty of events this weekend like the Bike Art 2003 Reception (part of the Bicycle Film Festival). If film isn’t your thing maybe “Art for Your Bicycle” is:

Art for Your Bicycle–from Garbage
May 11 (Sunday): 2-3:30 pm
Warren Street/St. Marks Community Garden, between 4th and 5th Avenues at Warren Street/St. Marks Street in Brooklyn. Come decorate your bike for spring with pinwheels, flowers and other fancies made from recyclable garbage (soda cans, plastic bottles, tin cans, etc.). Bring old umbrellas, soda cans, lids and tops, or make use of our own supplies on hand. M/N/Q/R/W/2/3/4/5 to Atlantic/Pacific Avenue.
