The Times reports that Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is talking about his company’s (Wheels of Zeus) new product. WozNet is a low speed network that transmits data at about 20K over the 900 MHz frequency. Small radio frequency transceivers receive signals from the GPS system, so they know where they are and can broadcast their whereabouts back to the base station. The RF transceivers must be within one or two miles of the base station in order to communicate with it. The transceivers can also communicate with other base stations if it is not close enough to its home base.
