NYPL Reading RoomAs of today (5 December), the Humanities and Social Sciences Library is open on Sundays. Here’s a great quote from the press release:

“This will mark the first time in 34 years that the Humanities and Social Sciences Library will be open on Sundays,” said David Ferriero. “We recognize that Sunday afternoon is when researchers get serious about the coming week, and it is really key that they have an open library for their academic and scholarly pursuits.”

Yes, Sunday afternoon is when the reality of a new week finally hits most everyone. If today’s crowd in the reading room is any indication, there will be plenty of people getting serious about the coming week on Sundays.
