The finalists in Apartment Therapy’s smallest, coolest apartment contest are being announced this week. Voting to choose the ultimate winner of this year’s contest starts on Thursday 05MAY and the winners will be announced on Friday 06MAY.

As a veteran tiny apartment dweller, I appreciate this showcase of interesting apartments from the five boroughs, all under 500 square feet. The finalists in this contest teach us to never underestimate the ingenuity of someone who lives in a confined space. Each apartment demonstrates that a couple hundred square feet can in fact be a comfortable and beautiful home.
