I’m a full week late on this post. Partially because I’m having trouble not thinking about the events in Minneapolis and elsewhere. I’ve been asking myself if I should I bother writing about little side projects and such when government agents are murdering people with impunity?

This is the compromise I’ve made on this impasse: I’ll say my piece here, then move on to the typical, lighter fare in my next post. If you’ve had enough of people’s takes on this administration’s antics, feel free to stop reading now.

The Venezuelan action earlier this month seems all but forgotten given what’s happening in Minneapolis. A government agent killed a woman, then Trump and his toadies immediately lied about what what everyone saw. A week on and they continue with lame justifications for their actions and tell us that these bad things won’t happen to us so long as we respect to and obey Trump’s brownshirts. According to them, Renee Good was shot three times because she wasn’t respectful and didn’t obey. If she had just followed orders to “get the fuck out of the car”, she could have gone about her business–likely after being pinned down and detained for a period of time. Now, it seems as if everyone in Minneapolis is under federal investigation except the shooter and professional bully, Jonathan Ross.

I fear this is a preview of what’s to come to other cities in the run up to the mid-term elections. The Republicans will have trouble maintaining their majorities through traditional means, so they’ll need a boost from armed voter intimidation and a president eager to call people exercising their first amendment rights an insurrection.

Trump doesn’t stop with his destruction of the country from within, he’s also making moves on the world stage. Moves that have the rest of the world turning away from us as one would try to ignore a petulant child. Unfortunately, this child has the means to destroy just about anything.

How much longer does this go on? There needs to be an immediate bi-partisan effort to impeach this president and remove him from office along with all the criminals he’s appointed. There will come a time when it will be too late to take this action, I just hope that time has not passed already.
